AlpVision Smart Embossing is a visible security element that features three dimensional elements for authentication by a smartphone.

How do you detect it?

Products protected with Smart Embossing are authenticated using regular smartphone such as iPhone and Android. The detection process is done in 2 steps to and relies on the analysis of the 3D-shape. Find out more

How does it work?

Smart Embossing™ is a visible security features with a 3D metallized relief that is difficult to reproduce. Implementation of the Smart Embossing requires processes such as hot stamping or embossing.

What do we think about this technology?

This technology is one of the rare security features which have both covert and overt capabilities while still being reasonably cheap to manufacture. Indeed, it seamlessly integrates into the printing process and does not require any dedicated production tools or consumables, so high volume deployment is cost-effective. Moreover, its hologram-like appearance makes it instantly recognizable as a security feature by consumers. Finally, its smartphone detectability makes it practically impossible to counterfeit.
