Historically, our invisible marking technology, the Cryptoglyph, has mostly been printed on rigid materials. The only exceptions are cases when it is printed on plastic films. But even on deformable films, the distance between the Cryptoglyph dots is invariant. We recently had a more complex case of a customer who needed to detect Cryptoglyph engraved on cork stoppers for wine bottles. A cork stopper is compressed in a random manner once inserted in the bottle, because cork is not a uniform material. After months of work we were finally able to update our detection app in order to successfully detect. This opens an interesting new market for AlpVision, and incidentally, we even discovered that it can also improve detection in some cases for rigid materials!
