We are proud to announce that we just had another patent granted. This US patent 15/985,091 is actually protecting our “Smart Embossing®” technology (which is also an AlpVision trademark). This solution is overt and looks a bit like a hologram. However, it is much cheaper to integrate, much harder to counterfeit and much easier to verify. It was designed from the ground up for smartphone detection and works by performing a real-time analysis of smartphone camera flash reflections on its surface. Interestingly, its manufacturing does not require any specific hardware or consumables and, therefore, Smart Embossing® can be integrated into hundreds of millions of product items and by almost any print supplier.
