AlpVision Granted New European Patent for Fingerprint

On November 4, 2015, AlpVision was granted a new European patent EP2024899B1 protecting the core innovation of our Fingerprint technology. This patent protects the key characteristic of AlpVision’s Fingerprint technology, which is leveraging the microstructure that naturally occurs in molded products as a unique identifier. Product authentication is performed using a standard smartphone equipped with AlpVision’s custom-built Fingerprint app. Since its release in 2009, AlpVision’s Fingerprint technology has been used to protect millions of products manufactured by molding worldwide, such as bottles and caps, electrical appliances, mechanical parts, and imaging supplies, to name a few. This exclusive right complements AlpVision’s ever growing portfolio of product authentication solutions, which now includes over 50 patents.
