What is it?
Cryptoglyph® is a digital, invisible product authentication technology using artificially introduced pseudo-randomly distributed micro-defects on the surface of printed products.
How do you detect it?
Authentication of products carrying a Cryptoglyph® is done using a regular smartphone.
How does it work?
Cryptoglyph® is a digital invisible marking that is applied to printed products by your current print suppliers with no visible design changes and without the use of special inks or other consumables. Product protection with a Cryptoglyph® involves printing micro holes in the varnish or solid color layer, or by printing microdots. The detection is performed using a dedicated smartphone app.
What do we think about this technology?
This technology is specifically suited to printed products. It is particularly interesting when an invisible solution which adds no manufacturing cost is needed. Its other benefits are that it is an industrially proven solution which already protects billion of products each year, can be deployed easily across many printing suppliers (since no dedicated hardware or consumable is required) and is easy to detect with a smartphone.
Field of application
Printed products, such as: folding cartons, labels, documents, leaflets, banknotes, cans, stick packs, blister packs and tin capsules.
